Is it a mistake in your opinion to start as Dominion if my intent is to raid?

Longer version:

Currently a WoW mythic raider who is playing Wildstar in the f2p beta, and absolutely loving it so far. As an aside been considering a switch for quite a while since WoW has really started to disappoint overall.

I've read the long thread on this forum about the population imbalance between the factions on the PvE server and frankly it has me concerned.

Looking at progression it appears that there is roughly an equal number of dominion vs exile raiding guilds:

This leaves me with a few questions:

Are the guilds listed on the progression site still actively raiding?

Are any of the raiding guilds looking to switch factions? (possibly further altering faction balance)

Will I likely find it hard to gear up and get any/all attunements I need to start raiding on Dominion side?

Thanks for your answer Wylf.  I definitely will be playing around during the next few weeks getting a feel for things so that when the drop comes on Sept 29th I've already picked my class/race and everything else.  Only thing left to do will be to level up and enjoy it all again for real.

I've leveled all the classes to around level 10 just to get an initial feel.  My highest level character is my chua esper... simply a joy to play so far (though I'm far from making up my mind).  I really love the chua animations and feel/attitude so far... still for me:

finding folks to play with and gear up with  >>> which race/faction I play (hence my initial set of questions).

I understand that it's going to be hard to see what the future will hold, but my fear/suspicion is that things will spiral heavily towards exile player population based on what I'm reading in the forums here, coupled with what I've seen in WoW over the years.

I hope I'm wrong, or Carbine quickly adds incentives to balance the factions quickly if things do begin to tilt.

Thanks Orrestes.  I've been looking over the wildstar logs just to get more info on how how things look come end game (used to reading these types of logs from wow raids for years now).

From another thread on the forums here, looks like they are balancing the classes pretty well on the PTR... so not really worried about any particular class being a horrible choice (so glad to see that):

Edit: I prefer to pick a class based on it's playstyle.  Class power rises and falls with nerfs/buffs, in the end I want to be happy with the class I play.
