So with the recent nerf to weapon fusions, which affected many builds either lightly or heavily (myself included in the latter), and with PTR healing changes for both Medic and Spellslinger due to come out next patch, It's time to take a small look into the state of healing in Wildstar.

 

Currently, though arguably, Healers in wildstar are undergoing the largest bulk of changes since F2P relaunch. From the massive change in focus costs, to the implementation of new healing based fusions and runes, to changing around or adding in entire new amps. Theory crafting in Healing has gotten just that little bit more interesting, and that's a good thing.

 

However with any large change in MMO's, there is always some type of costs.

 

Be it:

Changing Runes in gear.

Hunting Fusions in dungeons.

Changing your play style.

Adapting for Tier rune sets.

Updating new gear.

And I'm not here to say that there is anything wrong with those costs, or even pick apart any problems with those systems. HOWEVER I am here to say that there should be a level at which healers can Prepare for these costs.

 

As todays patch has shown us with specific focus on the Overflow and Guardian Angel runes, healing efficiently/cost can change at a moments notice. While this IS a large setback, and there's a discussion to be had about quickly changing a very core aspect/play style of the game without much notice, there is something that can be done about this issue so in the future, when things change it doesn't always feel like just another Cost ontop of everything else. Bring Us the Dummies.

 

Without going into the theory crafting side of things, Healing Dummies allow for two major changes to be implemented directly into the game.

 

Prepares the player for any unannounced buffs/nerfs.

 

Allows the player to see what they want/need from their own style of healing.

Both of these things highly alleviate cost to the player, as being able to further the understanding of your class in the game allows for people to prepare them for any changes that may occur without warning. Allowing players to test out their max HPS, and get a better understanding of their more situational skills. All in all, it would be better for the game.

How did the Strain get out of Grimvault to be in Wilderrun BEFORE the wall came down? I'm fairly sure you get the cannon/crash mission at the end of Malgrave, and the missions in Southern Grimvault are very much 'front line' operations against the Strain, and the datalogs and stuff show the Strain pretty much just broke through

I think you should put an overall feature list easily accessible from the Wildstar website of major changes that have happened since launch, to combat misinformation as well as provide a good guideline to people on what's going on

I like to savor the levelling experience, and frankly find the end game content of most MMOs boring. Raids and PVP do not constitute fun to me, and dailies are a soul killing grind.
